SORBETS

9 February 2012

This whole outfit is courtesy of Matalan. I'm part of this months Style Project, the monthly challenge where four bloggers go head-to-head to create the best outfit under a certain theme. I (and the other bloggers this month) were given the theme 'Spring Sorbets' and a voucher to create our looks.

My initial thought was to mix and match lots of different sorbet shades, though when I actually got to Matalan, it was a bit harder than I thought! You see, I'm very small and a lot of the adult clothes were too big, Rich found it hilarious. In the end I had a wander around the kids section, and laid my eyes on this beauty of a dress. It's an off white colour and immediately made me think of Lemon Sorbet (yum). I then decided to pair it with these super cute socks (only £1, bargain!), and grabbed this pink bow bag. It actually has a long strap, but I tucked it inside for the sake of the pictures. So I've ended up really girly, completely the opposite to what I intended, in lemon and raspberry sorbet tones. I don't mind though, think it works quite well!

I was genuinely impressed by Matalan when I went in store. I'll admit, I actually hadn't been in years but will 100% be returning. They have some gorgeous sheer dresses and shirts, and some cute peter pan collars so definitely worth a visit if that's your thing.

I think the voting has started over on the matalan blog, so if you like my outfit, you can vote for me here if you like: http://blog.matalan.co.uk/2012/02/matalan-style-project-10-sorbets-2/ Thanks in advance to all of you that do, I really appreciate it!
