TRENCH COAT

The summer is drawing to a close and although the sun is still shining gloriously, it's suddenly gotten a little chilly! Of course, for myself this means no less than the arrival of a trench coat; a ridiculous yearly tradition I told you all about in an earlier post. 

Today I've popped on my sheer polka dot tights; I always think sheer tights are perfect for autumn as wooly ones are still far too warm! I've also paired this lovely chunky knit cardi and plain black dress under my trench; September appropriate layering at it's best, non? As I know many people are, I really adore the oxblood colour that is trickling in to stores at the moment - my new bag is the perfect example! Another new item that has managed to sneak in to my wardrobe are these wonderful boots with extravagant zip detailing all around the edges. I'm certain they won't be leaving my feet all autumn nor winter!

As the September air has been a little bit nippy, I've spent the last few days inside in the warm. I'm lucky enough to have had a few days off to myself and a few more until the end of the week; wonderful and welcome, I can tell you. I've thoroughly enjoyed baking peanut butter and banana muffins (although golden syrup and banana for Rich, peanut butter is certainly far from his favourite!) which were rather yummy even if I do say so and disappeared rather quickly! I've been listening to lots of my favourite music too, including nostalgic choices of The Beatles, The Kinks and The Smiths, as well as the ever so dreamy Carla Bruni whose voice makes me want to pack up and move to Paris. Too, there have been many a cuddle with Fleur and Ludo and lots of teapots full of tea. It's these little things I love but don't make enough time to do!
