HALLOWEEN COSTUMES FOR THE FASHIONABLE

30 October 2012

You know what, attempting to find a fashionable halloween costume is hard. I was hired by 02 and Blackberry as part of their #LookScary campaign to style some outfits which are just that, so it's a challenge I know awfully well. After much deliberation and many mood boards later, I came up with a handful (above) that I'm rather proud of. So, if you're looking for a fashionable halloween costume idea, look no further.

Cat - This not so scary cat outfit is perfect for those that don't fancy going all out with face paint but would rather look damn good.  The cat mask you can purchase from any fancy dress shop. Top - Skirt - Socks - Heels.

Wednesday Addams - A more sophisticated take on the much loved character? It's so easy to recreate this look with a simple skater style dress and a cute shirt underneath. Pair with some ankle socks, buckled shoes or boots and striking make-up. Dress - Shirt - Socks - Heels.

Gothic - Don't fancy dressing up? Why not just rock a gothic or vamp inspired look? There's so many Oxblood coloured items in stores at the moment which would be perfect for this. Cape - Top - Shorts.

The Ring - Hopefully my attempt looks more chic than freak! A take on the girl from The Ring; dark eye makeup and messy hair a must for this one! Dress - Socks - Shoes.

Frankenstein - For the fashion-conscious male, how about a hipster version of Frankenstein? Any blazer a size up or with shoulder pads is perfect for recreating the look! Blazer - Shirt - Trousers.

Skeleton - A really simple look to create if you're a dab hand with face paint! The oversized Wildfox top works well for both guys and girls! The skeleton hands can be bought in fancy dress shops too.

I hope these might have given you some inspiration! What are you all doing for Halloween? I'm going to a Halloween Ball as Rich is playing in a 'zombie band'! I'm rather excited. Which outfit do you think I should go dressed in? I can't decide!
