FEDORA

29 April 2012

Cardigan - Primark.   Lace Top - Oasap.   Shorts - Topshop.   Shoes - Miss Selfridge.
Bag - New Look.   Hat - New Look.   Necklaces - Vintage.

I love this outfit, even if I do say so myself! I think it's because although I'm mostly wearing the dark colours I love, my beautiful new lace top from Oasap lightens it all and makes it spring appropriate. It's such a classic shape and the fact that it's plain lace means that it'll be really versatile to style for all seasons; always a winner in my book!

I've had the most lovely couple of days. It was my mums birthday yesterday and so my mum, my sister and I all spent the day getting pampered at the most luxurious spa (so pricey but so worth it). I've now got amazingly manicured hands in the same red OPI colour I always go for (creature of habit, what can I say). I also had a facial and massage; I should go for them more often, if only they were a bit cheaper! Anyway, in the evening we had drinks and went to see Josh Widdecombe and Charlie Baker, two absolutely hilarious comedians. It was fab, as I said. Today I've mainly spent cuddled up on the sofa with Rich and the pets having a lazy day watching box sets. Parfait.

TIME FOR TEA

25 April 2012

Cardigan - Carboot Sale.   Dress - Romwe.   Necklace - Charity Shop.   Shoes - Sarenza.

I felt like wearing a vintagey outfit when I woke up today; hence the tea dress and cardigan. I love the print of this dress from Romwe; the gorgeous birds and colour make for the perfect spring time dress. I picked up this cardigan from a carboot sale; there was the sweetest little old lady with a stall selling jumpers and other things she had knitted and I just had to buy one. It only cost £5 which is so super cheap for the amount of time it would have taken her!

I wish my shoes looked as nice in pictures as they do in person! They're by Vagabond at Sarenza. Since becoming a Sarenza ambassador I've been buying all sorts of beautiful shoes but I genuinely think these are my favourite. I've got so many pairs of black shoes that it's quite refreshing to have a plain pair that aren't ridiculously high that I can wear both as casual and evening wear. They're suede and I've worn them so much already. Just goes to show that plain, classic items are better overall!

I had such a lovely evening yesterday. Rich and I have both been working so much that we haven't seen eachother an awful lot over the past couple of weeks, but we booked a table at my favourite restaurant last night and finally got some time to ourselves. Today I'm having a day catching up with my favourite blogs and dabbling in some uni work whilst hiding from the rain under a blanket with Fleur.

BOX OF TRICKS

23 April 2012

Dress - Apricot.   Blazer - BHS Kids School Range.   Boots - Chockers.

It seems I'm still dressing for Autumn/Winter despite it being almost May! There's something about the constantly looming grey clouds and erratic downpours that make a pair of black tights and a cosy blazer seem welcoming; I haven't been reassured in to continuous spring shades quite yet... I can't be the only one?!

For all of you that asked via twitter/instagram (_EmilyDivine)/email etc, the makeup course went really well thanks! Since I've been doing friends and family makeup for a long time anyway, a lot of the things I had self taught, but it was nice to be told I'd been doing it right anyway I guess! Apparently I'm qualified as a makeup artist now as I also did a theory and practical assessment; but I'm well aware that just giving someone a title like that doesn't really make them one! Especially in something like makeup artistry; it's all about the experience rather than the qualifications!

I'm getting really sick of my hair at the moment! I have a love/hate thing going on with it. I have such an urge to cut it off in to a bob a la Amelie. I think it'd look fab. However, I did cut it all off 2 years ago only to mourn my long locks and vow never to do such a thing again. I won't let myself chop it so I'm trying to think of other things to do instead. I've considered ombre-ing but then my extensions won't match, or maybe a flash colour or something. If anyone has any exciting suggestions, please tell me!

SUNRISE

18 April 2012

Jumper: New Look.   Playsuit: Miss Selfridge.   Shoes: Sarenza.   Nails: Beauty UK.   Lips: Barry M.

Really neutral look today, even down to my make-up and nails! My mum bought me this jumper in the New Look sale a few weeks back and I'm still over the moon as I'd lusted after it full price! I paired it with my turquoise playsuit and the Georgia Rose coral pumps from Sarenza. Last month I decided I wanted to get some super comfy pumps shoes for spring and these were the pair I chose. They're suede and a perfect fit, I've hardly taken them off! I might even get them in the other colours...

Pictures were done in my garden which I never really like doing but I'm cracking on with work today so just took a few quick snaps. I've got two days off uni so am cramming in as much essay writing as possible - super boring but necessary even so. I kept thinking I had ages til my deadline but now it's crept up on me and I've got hardly any time at all - I'm sure you've all done that!

I've got a nice weekend to look forward to - doing a make-up artistry course that I've been wanting to do for ages. It's one of those intensive ones that I've been warned can be not as good as the full length ones, but I don't have the time for that so hoping this one will be fab anyway! By the way, I joined Instagram yesterday so follow me to keep updated in pictures '_EmilyDivine'!

TAKE OUT

15 April 2012

Blazer - Primark.   T-shirt - Romwe.   Shorts - Romwe.   Wedges - New Look.   Belt - Vintage.

I love this outfit; it makes me feel all bright and summery! The top and shorts are both from Romwe (thought I'd show you some more lovely clothes from them as my $80 giveaway is still running!) and I can't stop wearing them! The t-shirt feels such high quality and is so lovely and light to wear. I adore the two big chanel C's on the front. I'm all for wearing gorgeous cheap alternatives (sorry to those that will only wear the real thing!) and knew I had to have this when I saw this. They also have a fabby Vivienne Westwood logo top I want next time I have some money! The short really remind of vintage cut off levi's, anybody see what I mean? It's probably because they're high waisted. I've wanted some levi shorts for ages and when I saw the bargain price of these shorts (only about £15) they were soon mine! The blazer is another Primark one, I'm really loving what they have in store right now! The blue wedges are from New Look a few weeks ago that I bought for my friends wedding.

I've had a lovely couple of days; my bestie came to stay for a few days and it was fab to see her. I then had a night out with Rich and a few other friends dancing til the early hours followed by a day of charity shopping and a meal out last night. It's been so nice to have a couple of weeks off for easter, roll on May half term. Back to doing uni work today which will be awfully tedious, but the sun is out so perhaps I'll do it outside!

MYSTERIOUS UNIVERSE

13 April 2012

Cardigan - Vintage.   Vest - Primark.   Necklace - JewelRhi.
Skirt - Romwe.   Boots - Chockers.   Lips - ELF.

The sun briefly came out today so I jumped at the chance to take some pictures of my amazing new skirt from Romwe. I adore galaxy print and so I knew I had to have it as soon as I laid my eyes on it. The print is gorgeous and as it's sheer it is perfect for spring/summer! They actually do a number of skirts in various shapes in this print; I want them all! They are such a bragain working out at only about £20, I might just have to indulge and get the other styles too!

Speaking of Romwe - there are still 7 days until my giveaway ends on the 20th! You can win an $80 voucher to spend online at Romwe on whatever you like (...one of these skirts, perhaps?) as well as receiving one of their beautiful detachable collars! If you havent entered yet, make sure you do here!

My new necklace was kindly sent to me by Rhi - isn't it lovely? I'm sometimes a bit unsure of spike necklaces but Rhi ensures that all of her necklaces are still soft and feminine with dainty clasps so paired with this floaty outfit I felt much more comfortable! She has just revamped her shop and it's all so desirable (but very reasonable!), it's certainly worth a look!

BUMPER CARS

8 April 2012

Blazer: Primark.   Dress: H&M.   Leggings: Topshop.   Satchel: The Leather Satchel Co.
Ring: Jiji Ki Ki.   Nails: Beauty UK.

Hello strangers! Can't believe it's been more than 3 weeks since I last posted! We're all moved now and it's taken ages for the internet to be connected over here - the reason for my silence. Everything's sorted now though so I'll be back to posting as normal. We've unpacked most things here but there's still a lot of bits that need homes found for them. As we've lived here for a two weeks now it does feel like home; albeit a messy one! I've got a week off now which will be nice and means I can try and sort through everything else - that and trying to make a dent in the mountains of work I've got on my to do list at the mo!

Wearing the pastel turquoise blazer from Primark that it seems almost everyone has (this one or the pink version!). I love the pastels trend when it comes about every year but wearing too much of it in one outfit makes me feel a bit blah and a bit wishy-washy, so I paired it with this black chiffon dress and black leggings to make it a bit more of a statement. I thought the white satchel would lighten it up a bit for spring - I've gotten so much use out of this satchel lately, it's hardly left my shoulder!

I've got so many new things to blog about, as well as a giveaway coming up in my next post! Definitely a giveaway you won't want to miss, so keep your eyes peeled. It's so nice to be back blogging again, felt so strange being completely out of the loop for so long!
