Benefit’s Bella Bamba Lipgloss and Blusher: A Review

As an undeniably complete and utter wannabe ‘benebabe’, I simply could not be more pleased to kick off the new beauty side of Emily Divine with a review of my favourite powder blush and lipgloss combo; Bella Bamba.

3D Brightening Blusher
Starting with the box packaging itself, other than the pretty darn well, pretty pattern, there is also a nifty little mirror on the inside. I adore mirrors in products – I’m constantly losing mine in my bag so if it’s built in, it’s certainly a thumbs up from me. It also come with a super-soft bristled curved-edge brush that applies the product perfectly. The blush itself is so highly pigmented and has a strong colour; to me, this shows the quality of the product. For pale gals like yours truly, it means a little goes a long way which is fab – longer lasting product! I’ve used this on a variety of skintones on photoshoots, and for those that aren’t so pale, the colour builds really wonderfully. Retailing at £23.50, I’d say it was worth every penny.

The Ultra Plush Lipgloss
Firstly, let me just say how well the blush and lipgloss complement eachother. I always wear the blush with the gloss as the shades are perfect together. Much like the blusher, the lipgloss is super pigmented and the colour is long lasting. You know, I’d even go as far to say that this is the most pigmented lipgloss I’ve ever used – I mean, have you ever seen a gloss that creates the colour shown in the last photo? It’s love I tell you. Another plus point, is that it’s not ‘sticky’ like a lot of lipglosses are, it’s just super glossy. I can’t promise that in gale force winds you might end up with some hair stuck to your lips but it’s certainly wonderful otherwise! This gloss retails at just £13.50 for those kissable lips, need I say more.

I got a lotta love for these products. Lets not even get started on how the name leaves me singing la la la la bamba everytime I use it; and that ladies, is what you call instant mood uplift by itself and it’s all free 😉

VANITY FAIR

It’s quite common for Rich to make a kind-hearted but gentle joking remark about the amount I spent on what is, well, essentially vanity. As I write this, only hours earlier have I just forked out £60 for a haircut, picked up a couple of new lipsticks and well, it was only last week I spent £110 on skincare (whoops). I dread the thought of totalling up my average monthly spend on ‘essentials’ such as my daily make-up, skin care, monthly beauty treatments.. have you ever considered the cost?

Well, fret no more ladies. No longer can the men in your life (boyfriend, hubby, best pal, brother or even your dad) criticise you as it seems the modern day ‘meterosexual’ traits are showing themselves in more and more men. Even better (not for them, but bloomin’ funny for us to laugh about) is that apparently men are four times as likely to sustain an injury from their pampering. An injury? From pampering? Yes you heard it right. A recent press release that landed in my inbox showed an article from First4Lawyers.com with the research they had conducted, showing the comical injuries the boys sustain. It was just to good not to share.

I can’t deny that the increase in male grooming doesn’t really surprise me! Rich certainly spends longer on his hair than I do, though I can forgive him for that as long as it stops there and he doesn’t end up taking longer than I do to get dressed in the morning. I mean, we’d never leave the house!

ROLL YOUR EYES AND TURN YOUR HEAD

It makes a real change for me to be wearing a playsuit! When it comes to the colder months I seem to live in pretty dresses so and super cosy tights. Alas, spring is coming and the tights get thinner, the layers fewer and before I know it it’ll be time for my graduation (eep!). You can forget the outrage of double denim, take this trio of denim wonder shades. A super bargain at only £19.99 that is so unbelievably perfect for Spring/Summer. Despite being on trend, it still has that retro vibe that I prefer to have in my outfits. I can’t wait to add a bowler hat, some lace socks and a pair of brogues! My multicoloured nails are Barry M SS13.

I have a few parties coming up in the next few weeks; it’ll be nice to be able to glam up a little since I’ve practically hibernated all winter. As is with female ritual, this means a new dress for me; it would be rude not to of course (despite those that are currently hanging unworn in my wardrobe, shhh). It’s been tricky choosing just one – all the SS13 ranges are hanging from the rails but the temperatures are still a little chilly to fully embrace them, don’t you think? Nonetheless, New Look have some candy coloured frocks that have taken my fancy purely because of their pastel hues! The candyfloss shades and girly shapes are just too tempting to decline. I daresay I’ll be prancing around in one rather soon on here, debuting the look du jour and getting your opinions before the parties arrive! The styles I’m trying to decide from are all rather adaptable, glittering accessories making them perfect for the evening whilst ballet pumps and a satchel make them ideal for day wear. Versatility in a party dress means it’s more of an investment, non?Now to choose from the pink lace, green floral or monochrome heart print numbers. Can’t I just have them all?
