It’s nice to have secret places that you want to keep all to yourself, don’t you agree? I have favourite places to go for walks, to picnic, to waste away hours paddling my toes in a (perhaps not so) secret lake and of course gems of cafes to treat myself to tea and delicious cakes. I suppose these favourite places aren’t so secret at all, but I think it’s rather nice to cherish them that much that you don’t want to share them none the less. Do you all have places like that too? I’d love to hear all about them!

This post was spurred on when I noticed a competition which got me to thinking about where my favourite Secret London plaes would be. I struggled to compile a list, and I’ve decided that I have no favourite parts, but instead just wandering! A couple of weeks ago when Rich and I booked a couple of nights in the centre, we walked for hours in the pouring rain, getting lost and stumbling across the sites. Remember this early hours instagram? Nothing special in theory, but it really was one of the nicest London evening I have ever had. I truly believe that there is nothing better than getting off the beaten track – don’t take the tube, or atleast get off a stop early to take in your surroundings as you make your way. Don’t forget to treat yourself to a hot chocolate wherever you end up, the perfect way to finish exploring in my books! 😉

My most worn item of clothing at this time of year is my fur coat. Faux, of course! It feels like a constant giant cuddle, which in my books, is pretty good going. A couple of snaps taken this morning whilst I wandered around the quiet streets of my little town (yes, I’m that person that gets up bizzarely early for when the shops open to avoid crowds…) and really got in January sale spirit by purchasing a handful of pretty things for the house. It hasn’t just been sensible sale shopping though (I’m not quite that disciplined!), as I’m expecting my some goodies to arrive from Peter Hahn after I went on a little online spree (whoops!). I’ve consumed more vanilla hot chocolates than should be allowed and feel delightfully relaxed for a bit of time away from work and blogging. I hope you all had a lovely christmas, and not to forget, Happy New Year! – I’ve finally managed to stop Ludo from getting to his new favourite place (the christmas tree of course!) to hang from and chew on baubles (cat ladies, you know what I’m sayin’), and now it’s almost time to take it down again! Typical, huh? 😉
