My style isn’t exactly casual at the best of times, but even so, I’ve had the urge to put together something super elegant for a while. As if by fate, a beauty of a silk shirt (Ok, so it’s not the Chanel number that I pictured in my dreams, but it’s a bloomin’ close match and for that price, who can argue?) with a pussy bow neck tie made it’s way to my closet. Yes, I see the resemblance to Legally Blonde here too (thanks Rich for pointing that one out) but you know what? I think Elle Woods was pretty cool and I’ve even got my own little Bruiser in Fleur to match. Hey, when the similarities are uncanny, sometimes you just have to go with it. Anyway, all that aside, I can tell this cutesy shirt is going to become one of those items I wondered how I lived without.
Trust me, throw on an outfit like this one and you’ll feel like you really mean business, I think I would even dress like this every day for work if practicality would allow – don’t worry, I promise that anyone that hires me for a shoot certainly won’t get me tottering around in heeled sandals… 😉 x
As a gal with vintage and retro styling on the brain 24/7, Miss Patina is a brand whose pieces take up a large percentage of my wardrobe. My latest two additions, this daisy adorned blouse and high-waisted pastel blue skirt, say summer is here more than any other outfit I own – I know I’m not the only british belle jumping for joy at being able to wear summer styles at last!
Of course, the only way to accessorise such a weather-optimistic outfit is with the most outrageously bright bag you can find (yes cambridge satchel, I’m lookin’ at you), a co-ordinating silk scarf (this beauty being aptly named ‘Woodstock’ from Anna Lou of London), the perfect block heel sandals, some floral earrings and two pairs of sunglasses, because, well, I couldn’t make up my mind which went better…talk about first world problems! But seriously, it’s not just me that does that, right?
Now that my ghostly pale skin is getting some sun after so long, I’ve got a long list of ‘necessary‘ items to lay my hands on. For one thing, ARK and their amazing collection of co-ords. Go and have a peek and tell me I’m wrong. It’s a godsend that I no longer live in a city with an ARK store because quite frankly I would have spent every penny I have and would be left 40+ sets… I mean, even for me, 40+ co-ord sets is a bit OTT 😉
