Dress: Boohoo – Belt: Vintage
You haven’t seen my mug around these parts for a while have you. I’m back again, I promise. I’ve had the busiest couple of months with my photography which has been better than I could ever ask for, but has meant I’ve been a little quiet on social/actually IRL too. Putting a stop to it now though and when Boohoo asked about collaborating on this post, it felt like the best possible way to jump back in to the game.
My special place. When asked to write about a place that’s special to you (for significant reasons or less so) it’s a bit of a daunting task. I tried to think of somewhere cool, somewhere relevant to my photography or my ‘brand’, somewhere iconic or somewhere that would photograph amazingly. Then I thought, you know what, stuff it – I was sending myself down a stressful spiral of what would impress. I suppose after you do it for so long, there gets to a breaking point where you sort of forget where you end and the other persona you’ve created begins. In my head, there will be lots of you out there nodding too while you read this, because I’m certain that in this blogging world where everything and everyone is a vision of perfection but is secretly focused on £££, so many of us have been drawn in. I suppose that’s one of the reasons that I took some time out to focus on the version of myself that existed before this all began.
So, my special place. My bedroom. My little sanctuary of quiet. My own mix of white decor scattered with floral fabrics, stars and our hand painted furniture from summers gone by. The place where I try on new dresses and flit around in front of the mirror, feeling on top to the world, twirling around happily despite having nowhere to go. I’m not really sure what I’m trying to say in this post but it’s oddly cathartic even so. If you’ve lost your way, dig deep and take some time out to find it again. Your life on your terms. It’s the best feeling in the world. x
P.S. Notice anything different? Yep, I’ve my hair’s had the chop and I love it (but more about that another time).
