Autumn/Winter 2011 brings us a new luxury sportswear collection from designer Katherine Hamnett. Hamnett took inspiration from iconic righties and nineties prints to bring together this glamourous and elegant, but equally responsible collection for women. It is composed of jeans and trackpants, jumpsuits, parkas, t-shirts and sweats.
The materials used in production of her collection were rigorously sourced to enable them to be made as ethically and environmentally as possible. All made from sustainable fabrics, from organic cotton and parachute silk with sustainable trims; all processing is in compliance with REACH legislation.
You all know I’m pro-ethical fashion, so this collection is right up my street. Not only do I love that she has designed sportswear with such a glamourous feel to it (it definitely wins over my leggings/hoody running combination) but that it has been made from sustainable fabrics that leave less of a lasting impression on the environment. Lets hope Katherine Hamnett is leading the way towards a more sustainable fashion centred future.
