This is a bit of a different post today, definitely more effort photography wise than my usual posts! The reason being is that this look is for a competition currently being run by Indola. Some of us bloggers were given a selection of different looks to interpret and recreate ourselves, and I chose 50s Glamour.
We were allowed to choose a selection of Indola products to help us do so, and for this look I used their hair thickening elixir, their shine spray and their volume and restructure spray. These products are absolutely fantastic and I’d recommend them to every one of you, they’re all very reasonably priced!
In case you were wondering, this is how I did my hair: I only used hair grips and products to create this look, so it’s really very simple! After washing my hair I used the hair thickening elixir whilst towel drying and then roughly dried it. I rolled small sections of my hair in to loops around my finger and then pinned them to the roots of my hair and applied the volume/restructure spray; repeat this until all your hair is up. I left the pins in for about 15 minutes before taking them all out, by which time my hair was wonderfully curly. I simply then used the shine spray to finish it off and give my hair a bit of a glamourous 50s gleam. It’s so simple and easy to do, what do you think? Has anyone tried the vast Indola range before?
As the look was 50s Glamour, I decided that the focal point ought to be mainly my hair and make-up as hair can really make the whole tone of an outfit. I wore a vintage lace top – so fragile and delicate! – along with a red skirt and some simple black heels. I think it was a perfect modern take.
What do you think of my hair in these pictures – did I manage to recreate the fifties look?
