I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, being a tourist and rediscovering your home town is quite the best. Now, it may not be my home anymore (read: I moved away ten years ago!) but I still feel pretty at home in London and often overlook the beautiful places I wander past when I’m working in the city. I made extra effort this time around to fall in love with the places I’m all too familiar with. Seeing with the fresh eyes of a tourist visiting for the first time is a feeling that’s something rather special. For this trip, I mixed work and play – shooting a lookbook for a fabulous brand during the day, then a night in a swanky hotel plus dinner with Rich in the evening. Parfait!
Once upon a time (don’t worry, no fairytales here folks!), mustard yellow used to be my favourite colour and I had a wardrobe full of this sunny shade. Nowadays, it’s limited to this dress alone but after swishing around all day I feel the sudden urge to purchase a couple more pieces! Perhaps it’s the rose-tinted nostalgia of my teenage years, but I’m pretty fond of it nonetheless! 😉
The only way to wear yellow in my opinion, is with a slick of red lipstick.Throw in a few shades of black or brown with your accessories for good measure, and you’re good to go. Not forgetting the gold jewellery of course – it just so makes the colour pop! How do you like my hummingbird necklace? It’s such a timeless, beautiful piece, I can imagine having it in my jewellery box forever! x
