Hey everyone, after the success of my last few DIY nail art posts I’m back with another! This time I’m doing marble nails. You may or may not have seen these before as it’s a first time for me too, but believe me, they look awesome.
You will need..
1. Nail varnishes – minimum of 3
2. Cup or pot that you don’t mind putting nail varnish it
3. Cold Water
4. Toothpick/cocktail stick or whatever else you can find
5. Clear topcoat (optional)
Step one: Apply one of your nail varnish colours as a base coat and wait until it’s thoroughly dry. I’ve chosen a yellow Barry M colour. (My nails are all different lengths and not in very good condition at the moment, my other hand is worse as you’ll see.. apologies!)
Step Two. Fill your cup with cold water.
Step Three. Put a few drops of your other nail varnish colours in to the water.
Step Four. Using the cocktail stick (or whatever else you’ve got) swirl the colours until it looks a bit like this..
It won’t necessarily stay exactly like this, as after I took this picture and added a bit of yellow the colours all completely ran in to eachother for some reason, but don’t worry – that doesn’t matter!
Step Five. Lay your nail on to the surface of the water making sure the whole of your nail is covered. It likely you’ll get the tips of your fingers covered too but you can remove that later.
Step Six. Repeat until every nail is covered and allow to dry.
Step Seven. Remove any of the nail varnish that may have gone all over your fingers (I know I had it everywhere!) Apply a clear top coat if required.
Step Eight. Show them off!
