My cosy outfit for a day of wedding dress shopping. YES, I said wedding dress shopping, but back to that in a moment. Firstly, I just want to take a this opportunity to be terribly british and say cold weather please vanish. I am running out of new ways to wear jumpers and tights, and my already paler-than-pale skin I fear is at risk of turning blue. Anyway, I threw on this Wildfox jumper with it’s perfectly glitzy stars in all their glory and paired them with shiny shoes plus these shorts that are super high-waisted and short in equal measure, that I purchased at Vintage Festival last year. Quite frankly, I think they are the closest to the 90s-grunge look that I am ever going to get. Sorry fashionistas, I don’t think it’s for me.
Back to the wedding dress shopping! Loyal readers, you may remember this post back in October when I first mentioned Rich and I getting married in September 2014. It’s all gone rather quickly since then, choosing our ceremony and reception venues, and now it’s time for my dress. Here’s a little piece of advice from me, if you’re wondering what to wear when you try on wedding dresses. Something to get on and off easily, not like myself, who under this jumper had an extremely tight fitting top that I got stuck on my head with my arms in the air. Graceful I am not. Wear some nice undies too – after all, strangers will be seeing you almost nude so you want to feel your best. As it happens, I think I might have first dress syndrome (yes that’s actually a thing) as nothing has since compared to the first one I tried on!
As I type this, I am sitting tucked up under a blanket, having given myself a day off work, lazing around in a pair of slouchy George jeggings and another giant oversized Wildfox jumper (true story, don’t judge me). You see, I have tonsillitis and now a cold, too. Feeling a little like death, I’m spending my day reading my favourite blogs, and trying to decide whether to drink icy drinks for my throat or hot honey and lemon for my cold. Oh the (boring) dilemma. You may have noticed it’s been a little quiet around these parts, those regular readers will notice some changes very soon!
